Based on work that many have done, it always appeared to me that all
pre-WPC95 pins had problems with ghosting. Williams changed the
software sometime in 1996 which solved this issue plus retrofitted AFM,
TZ and WH2O in updated software.

Now I get reports that some earlier WPC machines do not ghost with
    standard LEDs.

    Does this make sense?

I believed that all pre-1996 used the same exact hardware and software
in switched lamps and would suffer from ghosting.

It does not make sense to me that some report that pins like BSD and
Bride of Pinbot do not ghost, unless there are differences in the
    hardware and / or software.

There's differences in the software :)

There were lots of versions of APPL over the years - undoubtedly some
work better with LEDs then others. Also, I don't have any evidence of
this, but it's possible as well that the ASIC that replaced a lot of the
I/O chips went through some revisions too.

    Thanks Scott.

So there is not a 'one size fits all' generality to the ghosting with
WPC89. That makes things easy (sarcasm).

That list says that Hurricane is non-ghosting. But when I retrofitted a Hurricane, now sold, I had ghosting and had to use the non-ghosting
    bulbs in it.

So there could be some variety within a certain game production.
