I have a Bally Mystic that has a totally hacked up Power Supply board
with several wires soldered directly to board, some wired to an old
EM style connector and then to the board, and a mix of connectors to
fill in where wires aren't directly soldered.
I decided to buy a new Power board and redo all of the wiring and
connectors. In doing so, I found that my transformer wires are
tapped to provide 115 volts. The schematics show four options on how
to wire the transformer: 115, 120, 220, and 230 volts. I know that
Stern always suggested wiring their games for 115 volts while Bally
defaulted to 120 volts. However, while my schematics give the four
option above, the schematic itself assumes that you will use the 120
volt option.
My question is, with the new power board, should I just keep the
wiring as it is for 115 volts which means I won't have to change the
taps on the transformer or should I go ahead and wire it for 120
volts since I'm doing all of the work around the transformer anyway
and that is what Bally defaults to?
