I am a big fan of Thunderbird for my newsreader, have been for years.

    https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/

Eternal-September is my goto for a news server, it's free and the owner
has done a lot of work to filter out the spam flood from Google Groups.

    https://www.eternal-september.org/

He is also working on a web interface as well.

I took the time to setup Seamonkey and eternal-September and i don't see
much of the spam anymore. It's a PIA, but it's worth the time.

I've seen zero spam using e-t since Google shut down their user portal.

Quite quiet - a bit too quiet, but maybe folks will come back or join us
here once they realize the spam has gone.

I can barely find a single post that isn't spam and I think that guy
Cody Chun or Chung or whatever his last name is has been flooding this newsgor9up with spam constantly. There's a lot of jealous people on this newsgroup who wish they could play a pinball machine like me but every
in their dreams it could never happen.
