Am unhacking a toasty F2K. There is no line voltage past this line filter. There is a filter on GPE. Will it work as a replacement here?

I have not ever had to replace one of these things. Do they fail often? Also my schematics do not appear to have a cabinet diagram. It is connected to 2 back wires and 2 white wires (via another hack). Is this right? Thanks for any insight u can give here. If I can get a close up pic even better πŸ˜€

That looks wired correctly. Before you go and replace it, cut off the
MOV on the input. (Strictly speaking you don't need it or the line
filter to run the game, but it is a good idea to replace them if needed)

If you do need a replacement heatshrink the wires when you solder them
    back on.

Clipped the MOV and .... BOOM .... 119v now present. Thank you. What does that thing do anyway and how can it take down the line voltage like that? Weird.

    Answered my own question

Don’t quite get how it can take out line voltage without tripping a breaker though.
