Restoring a EM machine. I have gone thru all my reel's. I have read where Clay says you HAVE to replace inserts if they aer frozen, I have also read that I could give it some time and sometimes they do come loose....etc.etc..
I have the different versions of Clay's EM manuals that he has written and they say the same thing.
Best to change the COIL Insert at the same time as the coil! right ??
thanks!!!!
New coils should come with new coil sleeves. They used to. We normally
include a sleeve with our coils.
So, yes, replace the sleeves.
An easy eyeball check of the condition of a sleeve is look at the inside
of the sleeve - do you see three thin raised rings near the securing
flange? Those help guide the plunger to the coil stop and if they are
worn it is time to replace the sleeve.
