I have this same problem bit I heard it as if somebody was trying to break into my house....and when I checked outside there was scratches on my window and glass on the ground.....so I recommend that you make sure to keep a bat or some kind of object near you so if something or someone gets in you can protect yourself....
Also if you have a sensor light you can see weither or not somebody was at your door (I am speaking from experience because this has happened to me three times and the third time somebody turned off my motion-sencored light)

min, then nothing the rest of the night.

Its driving my family insane, hard to get a nights rest....I have
googled many sites on home settling. But this seems ridiculous.

Please help if you have any ideas.

Ohh and please no ghost ideas..really or other types of banging:-)

Hi Mike,
I was looking up posts from others to see if anyone else has had the same experience you are talking about.
We had this same thing happen to us last evening in Alberta Canada.
I happened to be talking to a neighbour down the road and they had the same thing at the same time.
I went through our entire home inside and out and found nothing.
Our friends down the road did the same.
there was a really loud bang like something fell in or hit our house and the windows that were open shook.
Our friends describe their expirence the same way.
Weird.
Almost like a sonic boom hit our homes.
