Center hole switch ejects upper left hole solenoid...switch matrix test checks out all is good...center solenoid energizes and lights out when it goes into attract mode...also, center hole ejects in solenoid test mode but under "Police Light", center hole solenoid ejects upper left in test mode. I've been doing this for almost 40 years and am dumbfounded, lol...New RD MPU BTW...

Is this your game and it started doing this, or is it a customer's game
and you have not seen it working properly and have no idea what screwups
the owner or previous tech may have done. This info is useful...

It sounds like someone miswired a connection.

Let me see if I have it right:

    1) Centre Hole Switch shows correctly in Switch matrix Test

    2) Centre Solenoid fires Upper Left Solenoid in Solenoid Test.

    3) The Upper Left fires when it should be Centre.

What happens with Upper Left Solenoid when tested - does it work correctly?

I sold it to this guy a year ago and all was working fine when sold, the guy has not messed with it...the upper left solenoid works as it should and tests as it should...I'm confused, lol...also, when the ball goes into the left lock and the second ball ejects into plunger lane, it tilts as soon as the ball is shot...any help appreciated.

I would make a copy of the switch matrix from the manual. Matrix is on
    page 26.

Then go into the switch matrix test mode and see if every switch is
recognized and only that switch. A bit tougher without a DMD, but it can
    be done.

I would remove the pinballs prior to this test and make sure all
    switches are open.

I have used this guide (below) for years. It has helped me figure out
all sorts of confounding matrix issues.

Is the 6821 that controls the coils in a socket? If so, I would swap it out first. Then the 74154 that multiplexes the signal, and finally the u45 or u50 that passes the signal to the transistor.
