    I think we can agree a certain level of intelligence is necessary to effectively use GNU/Linux. The real job of Walmart greeters is to detect that level of intelligence and refuse entry to those persons.

    Microsoft rushed in with "Windows 7 Starter" to push those "Linux" netbooks
    off the shelves. They're trying to do the same thing now to Chromebooks
    with super-cheap laptops running Win 8.

    Microsoft also apparently pressured Walmart to drop the Linux boxes by
    claiming they were a sure route to "pirated" Windows.

    And, to be sure, netbooks themselves proved to be "pretty much over" by the time Windows appeared on them.

    Finally, let us not forget that Microsoft exerted pressure on ASUS for exhibiting an Android netbook. The next day, ASUS apologized publicly to Microsoft for showing that product.
