Then you must have done something wrong, like removing your task manager from the panel. I hear of a lot of people doing that by mistake.
Yes. That's *exactly* what had happened.
I had to google to figure that out though, as I hadn't known that this
was the problem.
Luckily, very many people have been there and done that, so it wasn't
too hard to find that solution on the net.
But, I also screwed up the desktop hitting that cashew for the first
time. It wasn't ten minutes of testing out what that 'thing' does, that
I had my entire desktop in shambles, particularly trying to get rid of
what appears to be a useless (to me) "activity three dot thing" in
favor of a simple display of current desktops (I have mine set to 4).
I also put the desktop switcher to the top right but it kept getting in
the way of the window-close button on all full-sized windows (that's
a design flaw that makes the top right selection location essentially useless).
Needless to day, I still have "[Cancel] [Save]" buttons reversed in
my save dialogs (KDE for some perverse sadistic reason, reverses the
two buttons into "[Save] [Cancel]" instead of the internationally
accepted norms).
