I chose the area I live in because it isn't subject to major
earthquakes, wildfires, tsunami, mudslides, flooding, etc. I was a
geologist before getting into IT and I put some thought into where I

It's amazing how many people live on floodplains, unstable slopes, near
major faults, on volcanoes, and things like that.
