Hey there, hope your weekend (or is it a Friday for you?) is going well.

I've been watching some Australian motor sport today (Bathurst 1000) which runs across several days. Today there was some racing but the top 10 shootout stuff was called off due to rain. I think the main race should run OK tomorrow.

Anywhoo just a heads up that I am playing with fsxnet.nz at the moment, I figured it needed some more love so have opted to blow up the static site I had and swap it out with a wiki to serve up the content.

I figure I can work to migrate content from wiki.fsxnet.nz that still is valid across to the fsxnet.nz site over time. I also think by using a wiki as the basis for the site I can work to slowly add other helpful info in a structured way that will help people set up their BBS, learn about other BBS software etc. etc.

I'm just starting to play with finding ways to copy over files from the infopack like systems.txt to see if I can get them to display as a page on the wiki. I figure asides the issues with things not looking so great when you display a txt file in a mobile view it should at least allow for more people using the website to discover BBS that are part of fsxNet and see the updates in history.txt etc.

Perhaps there are better ways to do things, any suggestions welcome. I am going to cross post this in fsx_gen and fsx_net but if you have feedback etc. please take it to fsx_gen

    Thanks :)

Hey the wiki looks good! I like the theme.

Yeah, easier to maintain one wiki rather than two, and last time I
checked the wiki.fsxnet.nz looked a bit dated.

Is it possible to get a lets encrypt cert for the fsxnet.nz? They're
free, just not sure if your web host supports it? Might be better if it's
    https

I agree, I plan to retire it / merge what we can into fsxnet.nz

Hmm, my webhost set one up for the domain, so if you go to https://fsxnet.nz it *should* work?

Phew, that's good, I wonder if it's a case that I need some rewrite rule enabled to enforce https?

So to start with did you just plop in http and it worked with that and didn't redirect to https?

Not sure, I think I just typed fsxnet.nz and possibly firefox remembered
from another time I've been to fsxnet.nz and it was http. I'll try with falkon.. one moment please .... *elevator music* .... hmm falcon seems to default to http.

Thanks for testing, I will kick the server and add a re-write rule I found in a cook book at the library when searching for 'best waffle mix' :)

Oh, and can I ask, what is a good way to call a script from within another .sh script?

I'm trying to add some sub processes to the main script .sh that hatched the infopack so that an updated systems.txt and history.txt are sent to fsxnet.nz as wiki pages.

    [time passes]

Mmmm waffles, oh sorry... yeah I have added the re-write rule, wonder if that makes a difference now?

    another .sh script?

hmm, someone else may be able to answer better because I'm not 100% sure..

    I *think*

    . /path/to/anotherscript.sh

    will include the script?

you should be able to just run it like any other binary, so long as the
file starts with #!/path/to/shell (probably #!/bin/bash)

Mmmm waffles, oh sorry... yeah I have added the re-write rule, wonder
if that makes a difference now?

    Yes it did.

Thanks, I will try this probably tomorrow, it's getting late here and my brain is getting fried.

    Yay. Thanks for checking.

    another .sh script?

hmm, someone else may be able to answer better because I'm not 100% sure.. I *think*
    . /path/to/anotherscript.sh
    will include the script?

thart will include the script at that particular point in the calling script, then it would execute "AS" the calling script.

it's the same as doing "source <my other script>

you should be able to just run it like any other binary, so long as the file starts with #!/path/to/shell (probably #!/bin/bash)

if you have #!/path/to/shell (usually #!/bin/bash) as the first or second line (if the first is the shellscape comment)
and it is +x then it will execute as a regular command.

    for example... my /etc/rc.local

    #!/bin/bash

/usr/local/bin/cpuguv.sh& # Set CPU to performance

    /usr/local/bin/rc.iptables& # Setup IPTables

<plus a few other stuff here

    exit 0

the exit 0 is just a ahang over and forces the script to exit

    regards
