I did try to modify to what I thought it should be and activing these events appear to lock up MIS (it shows "Starting Events" but never seems to finish.

A lot of the events in the stock install refer to files not created.

I'd start with two semaphore events to listen for incoming and outgoing echomail/netmail.

I'd also have an interval event set to poll your hub(s) and a nightly maintenance event to run an .ini that calls the maintenance you want done.

You will want to ensure your shell commands are set for linux pathing so something like

./mutil mailin.ini (assuming you have an ini set up to process echomail and files etc. called mailin :)

I think this is an area that trips a lot of people up (me included). As this is of concern for fsxNet sysops running echomail properly w/Mystic, wonder if we could create a documentation page on the fsxNet wiki showing recommended echomail setups? I've actually scrubbed your videos multiple times looking at events. At one point, I gave up on Mystic events and switched to cron jobs, not realizing you had to restart the mis server for them to take effect... Also, there's the difference between Windows and Linux events, no more fidpoll, etc.

Agreed. I just had to help someone with this on Reddit /r/bbs with the same issues, and actually sent them the import, export, and maintenance scripts
    that I use.

It's easily the hardest part about the initial setup.

I agree... I'm working on a Fido HUB conversion to HPT right now but more
than happy to open up editor access to the fsx wiki to anyone who would like
    to work on it etc.

I just went through this as well, and was only able to figure everything out from Paul's YouTube videos. I'm running Linux, so naturally I followed the Linux/Raspberry Pi videos to setup my mailin.ini, mailout.ini and maint.ini,
as well as the fidopoll, but had to watch through one of the Windows videos
    to figure out events.

I didn't catch the bit about having to restart the mis server to get them running though, which is likely why I couldn't get them working and changed them all to scripts scheduled in cron. (Along with a @reboot script to start mis and mrc at boot).

I'm sure there's tons I'm missing (I still don't have filebases beyond NODE
and INFO), so I'd be very happy to beta test any docs, procedures etc, should that be useful to anyone :)

    Thanks,
    Jay

Yeah, that was a gotcha that I had to mention to the person I was helping.
The really old Windows video looks like it's redundant to the newer linux video, but without it I never would have figured out the event config screen.

    All,
I have so many questions on Mystic, but I will start with the big one first:

if the original commands using "import.ini" apply?
