I'm new to this so please go easy on me :-)
fsxNet is really newbie-friendly. You can expect most of us to be friendly. :)
Mystic and all is well until I try to setup EchoMail. I've read the
doco, wiki and followed Avons videos. I understand the difference
between NetMail and EchoMail. When I use the message base editor I only have Local, Networked, Newsgroup and NetMail as Base Type options. EchoMail does not appear. The doco,
wiki and videos show EchoMail as an option but I do not have it. I'm
using 21:1/999 as my own Net Address just for testing. I've tried a new parallel install and see the same thing. V1.12 A47. Am I being a muppet
or am I missing something?
Erm...if you've followed the Mystic Guy's videos, one of them describes using mutil to 'install' all of fsxNet's echo areas, mostly automatically. Let me
see if I can give you a tiny bit of wisdom, though:
This is an echo mail. So was the message you sent, to which I am responding! The fact that we both can read this, is because this echo area (aka message base) is on a network, and not local to only one of our BBSes. Netmail is slightly different. It requires a dedicated echo area, using the Netmail setting that you're looking at.
I've never used the 'Newsgroup' setting, but I think one can use logic to figure out what that's for.
You've clearly done something right, though! We can hear you! Welcome to the party, Tasweb! =D
