• New menu commands?

From paulie420@21:2/150 to All on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 11:20:59
    Four new menu commands would be well received;

    nextarea
    prevarea
    nextconf
    prevconf

So that a sysOp could add [ , ] and { , } commands to the file/message menus - allowing a user to navigate the areas and conferences by typing "]" to goto the next area, and "}" to goto the next conference.

Just an idea, and no worries if it doesn't make it...

Hey, I just wanted to post here to make sure we understand eachothers intentions.. :P I figured I'd post REAL, wanted things in this fsxNet support base... and that message base on my TALISMAN install is just every darn thought in my brain; some for me, some for you... but...

Don't want you to think I'm being demanding or ANYTHING - I'm just helping with a project that I'm totally into and you shouldn't think that I'm asking for every THING I'm posting - especially on MY TALISMAN message base. :P

I'll put real thoughts here, and my entire brain over there... :P And I'm only trying to help; not sound wild and crazy. I hope this explanation lets you know how I'm looking at this. :P

So far, I'm having more BBS fun because of TALIS... so; woohoo!

That's all good. Most of those things you have on your message base makes sense. Don't worry about asking for too much, so far most in your message
base have been little things, and easy to do.

I might not get to all of the ideas, or may disagree with some, or
    whatever.

One thing I'm not sure about is why the time left on your board isn't
aligned correctly, I know I said it was padding, but then I looked at the
code and it's not padded. So not sure what's going on there.

Yeah, it's ok. You are helping, though I may slow down a bit over the
next little while, mostly because I'm working on a tosser, and that won't
    be ready for a while..

I'm glad you're having fun. It's nice to know someone besides me is
having fun with my stuff. (I know there's a few which is really cool),
and shooting ideas, brain dump etc, just shows you're interested which is
    quiet encouraging.

I think I do. So, if theres no ANSI or characters on the line with the @codes its fine; just like in your ANSI. My menus have STUFF after the @codes; so I used old TheDRAW and turned on animation AFTER the screen was all done, then went in and wrote the @codes on top of it. Its probably why....

If TALISMAN would line up without using animated ANSIs that would be best - but ... maybe I should just send you ONE of my menus, both animated and not so you could see why I animated them. The first versions aligned worse, because of the parts of the menu that are displayed after the @codes.

No worries tho, this is a little problem. Add in that the sysOp account has 4characters (1440minutes) opposed to 3 (300minutes), thats why it looks different for different users.

I am. I really like being in a project since it started - do know, however, that I can slow down and not worry about it for periods of time and its no biggy. I am not RELYING on TALISMAN for anything, but I do want to be a sysOp using it, able to test MY workflow on your project as you go... Happy Thanksgiving, apam!! Happy Thanksgiving.
