Hey fine Talisman sysops... I'm testing a little mod I wrote for
Talisman.
Awesome! That's one thing that I can move to the back of the todo list
;P
Hey fine Talisman sysops... I'm testing a little mod I wrote for
Talisman. It's just an AutoSig editor. If you want to check it out on my BBS, it's accessible under a hidden Message menu key - just press 'Z'
Paulie420 mentioned that it would be intuitive to have a way to edit your AutoSig from the Message Menu, it seemed trvial enough that I
decided to code a little Door Program in Go to handle this.
Neat dude.. hope I didn't create a bunch of work for ya - however I'm heading over to check it out...
Now I laugh at my email and all my instructions to you for that Covid
mod. LOL... sorry dude, some folks aren't knowledable - seems like you
know way more that I do. :P
No, it was really awesome because it gave me a chance to finally complete something! I'd been stuck on a program I was writing and I needed something new to obsess over, heh. I'm actually a terrible programmer,
but hoping to get better.
I meant to thank you for that write up! I really appreciate it, and trust me, you over-estimate my knowledge. As I'm sure apam can testify to, I NEED detailed instructions.
Thanks again :)
Hey... I read your email about the Covid mod. I must have forgot about switch the ANSI back from Amiga font mode. Its a simple
'codepageswitch.ans' file. I can goto your BBS an upload a ZIP with
both the switch BACK and some .ans files that switch TO

That'd be awesome -- on the board or just e-mail them -- thanks, Paulie420! I remember I had this problem when that mod first came out and I just gave up trying to figure it out. Must be a specific ansi escape code that triggers the font and/or a reset?

I've added the mod's source files to github for anyone that wants to test the pre-alpha:
https://github.com/robbiew/go-autosig-talisman
It also includes a binary (autosig) for Linux 64 in case you don't have a Go environment on-hand to compile. Instructions are at the above link.
If anyone is running rPi or Windows 64, let me know and I'll compile binaries fo those as well.
Looking for some testing feedback!

Hey, I run a Raspberry Pi... but I can just catch you on Drunken Gamer
and - no rush at all for me; I would like to run it, if yer offer
stands, but get to it when you can...
I'm stoked that ya'll are taking a trip and... enjoy yer weekend
dude!!!
The app/mod is really nice; It works. I got my siggy on Drunken Gamer, lickety split.
I run win32 if you want a test on that?
Thanks, Paulie. I'll get the Pi version tested and over to you next week.
I just realized (literally had one of those sit-up-in-bed at 3am moments) that the path to the dropfile is actually hard-coded in Go, lol, I need
to fix that before it'll work for anyone other than 'robbiew' user, heh. [] Alpha

Do you have a Go environment setup on your Win32 machine to compile, or would you need the binary already compiled?
Already compiled if possible. There's only a 20GB HDD image on that
"machine" and it's getting kind of full. LOL

Sure thing. Go has the ability to cross-conpile for any platform (from whatever platform you are using), and I've never done that before so
it'll be a great opportunity for me to learn! I'll ping you when it's ready and you can either d/l from my BBS or right from github.
