Thanks guys... still loving TALISMAN, still playing apam's door games
and stillwanna be part of the community!
Is there any better documentation about getting TALISMAN and Postie
polling HappyNet now? apam gave me a Happynet node # [which I'll have
to find again and make sure apam is still servicing... but I'm sure
its in an email.] and I *do* wanna run HappyNet on my TALISMAN BBS.
What is the most current version of TALISMAN currently? I wanna make
sure I upgrade and keep it updated to current. If I'm on 0.7 can I
jump right up to the newest one, or is there any special
considerations that need taken?
Thanks guys... still loving TALISMAN, still playing apam's door games and stillwanna be part of the community!
Hey Paulie!
I know this Q is for apam, but I just downloaded the brand-new
v.10 that apam released today (yesterday?). I set it up "bone stock"
with onlyHappynet and Postie, just so I can make sure I had all the
kinks ironed outw/FTN before customizing further. I had been hitting my head against a wallwith ftn and Apam just graciously solved it for me (I had a relative path forthe packet directory - DUH!). Man, that one had
me stumped for a bit and wastotally my oversight :)
Anyway, if you need any example config files, let me know -- I have the "goldentriangle" of Talisman configs all working: mb_hpy.toml,
binkd.conf andpostie.toml. I'm running on an rpi but it would work from any install.
I also built it using apam's install.sh (on the doc site) BUT you have to manually build and link Postie, as it's not in the docs yet -- but it's thesame as the other binaries, just change the paths to Postie...
Anyway, good luck and LMK if I can help as well?

The current version is v0.10, and you should be able to just upgrade.
The first thing to do is setup binkd, that actually is what polls for mail, postie just tosses mail from / to binkd to / from your bbs.
If you want some example config files, let me know.
Andrew
