I'm in one of my favorite coffee shops, a place I used to get out of my home office during a job search, and one I used as a change of scenery when I consulted.

I left my current employer's office in March of 2020, and their offices are still closed. I'm planning for remote work for the duration with them.

This is my first time working in a coffee shop since the winter of 2019. I missed the energy, someone else's eclectic playlist, and the ambient noise. I've played around with a virtual cafe from workfrom.co, but it's not the same.

Plus, the barista is a lot cuter here, and she makes a mean Americano.

I also like being in a coffee shop, for the same reasons.

The last time I had sat in a coffee shop for a significant amount of time like that was probably 2008. I had dropped my car off to get some brake work done one day, and I had brought my laptop with me and walked to a nearby Starbucks and was there until early evening when my car was ready.
