Wanting to hear others thoughts about File Stat areas. As-is, it seems most of them that are posted daily are near copies of each other. NASA photo of the day, and other BOT driven files / stuff passed around TICs.
With enig, I let users choose what areas to allow/omit from these posts, so TICs are left out, and I leave out any others from Xibalba. ...so
what you're left with is actual new content.
I'd like to know what others think of this, and perhaps we could drive towards something similar to make these useful again.
As an aside: I think it may be time to remind some people that posting their BBS add daily is way too much :D
I agree with you completely. I only access those to bulk mark them read.

Do you mean ad (rather than add)?

My opinion is that any "new files" post, in any echo, is completely
useless. Thirty years ago I wouldn't have said that, but now.... yup.

+1
Agreed. I'd go further and say that files in general are not
particularly interesting. The only reason I log into BBSes anymore
is for messages and the occasional game.
This would be a great on-topic thread for fsx_net... but I understand the desire to post it here :)

I'm sick and on a lot of meds, so I may be missing what you're saying -- this is fsxNet/General, is it not? I can start the conversation elsewhere... ?
Firstly sorry to hear you're unwell Nu, hope you feel better soon.
Yep gen is certainly a space for all sorts of chatter, it's just that I figured if you were asking about if echos should be changed or the stuff posted etc. to it should etc. then the fsx_net echo might be a good vehicle for such a discussion..
