• Nvidia Shield game console emulation

A while ago, I bought an Nvidia Shield Pro streaming device for one of my TVs at home. Overall I think it's a great streaming device and is able to stream a variety of video formats fairly easily. Its wifi also seems to stay connected better than the TV it's connected to.. Also, one reason I bought the Nvidia Shield was that RetroArch (a game console emulator) is available for it. I installed RetroArch on it and put some game ROMs on it, and I think it actually works fairly well. I also bought an 8BitDo SN30 bluetooth game controller, which works well with it. I think it's a fairly cool setup. I hadn't used RetroArch on it for a while, but I recently started playing some retro console games on it again, and it has been fun.

Do you happen to have an Oculus Quest or Quest 2 that you could try to pair your controller with? I should get an alternate controller for my Oculus Quest but don't know for sure if one of those 8bitDo controllers would work well with it... would love the heads up from a fellow user who could experiment with it.

I don't.. I had an Oculus Quest a few years ago but ended up selling it because I wasn't using it very much.

Not that I am a fan of cloud gaming, but how does that work? Does Nvidia host the RetroArch instance and you upload ROMs to it? Or are the ROMS already available from their servers?

I don't know, as I haven't used cloud gaming. The emulator is an app that runs locally on it, and I put the ROMs directly onto my Nvidia Shield device. It has a USB port on it where you could copy files from a USB flash drive (with an app); it also has a setting to enable access to its storage via a local network share, so you could copy files to it over your local network.
