I'm not sure I've convinced him yet. He has some concern around handling the display of real ANSI (like BBS ads) without trying to colorize them if a > is detected. I would assume you don't apply the quote format if the Message reader detects ANSI?
Yep exactly. Quote handling, ANSI "art" vs a textual message, etc. is a big mess to deal with really. I'm not quite happy with now Enig handles quotes all the time. I may re-visit that before the FSE re-write if I run into enough situations that it triggers me hehe. Enig trys to leave formatted ASCII as-is for the most part, ANSI is pre-processed to be able to live in a FSE, and everything else is _mostly_ just dumped in. ...until you try to quote it, which again, ...ugg. :)
