Given there is increased interest in cryptographic currency, blockchain tech and NFT etc. perhaps those subjects can be formally
incorporated into this echomail area along with the current stuff around encoded messages, keys etc.?

What about another direction - VPN's?
Have to say, I like it. Really easy and performs well (which are its two strongest attributes that it boasts about). Ive used many over the years
- IPSec, OpenVPN, tinc and I think I'll deprecate all my other VPNs for Wireguard...
Anybody else used it - any thoughts?
It just works and seems to be reliable, but I haven't used it much. If I understand it correctly it doesn't support direct p2p
connections out of the box like tinc or zerotier, but I haven't followed recent development.
Wireguard...

Once I get the boy a new router setup.. I really want to see if I can get EoIP over wireguard.. so we can play on the same 'local'
minecraft server.. curious to see if that works out!
Have you tried out zerotier?
It'll make a network "local" - although using minecraft doesnt need to be local? I have a minecraft server setup for my son, and his friends
connect in from their homes.

Yeah, I have.. works well but ehh.. quite a bit of added latency.
I've found that ZeroTier does use the most optimal routing possible between hosts. I find it works well. I'm even running a MMDVM and AllStar node over ZT, which took a bit of configuration, because I'm routing a 44.x IP over it, which the default configuration doesn't
allow. Anyway, I can take this system to just about any working
Internet connection, fire it up, wait several minutes, and I'm on the
air. :)

Don't get me wrong.. I think ZeroTier is great, and does work great. I
am not a HAM, but am familiar with what you're talking about. That is pretty awesome actually! HAH I had to stop and think about that for a second.. WOW.. technology is something else ;)
