• Silver Xpress door multinode

I have been working on getting the Silver Xpress mail door working properly on my BBS. Running Silver Xpress 5.03 M1 (SX503M1.ZIP) for Maximus 2.x.

Does anyone know about running Silver Xpress on more than 3 nodes?

With the shareware version, only 3 nodes are supported and if trying to open the door on node 4 or higher, it will refuse to run. (annoyingly it doesn't make note of this in the log file, it just creates a 0 byte log file and leaves it at that)

I downloaded SXCODE.ZIP HackWare serial generator for Silver Xpress 5.03 and the generated code does seem to be accepted by Silver Xpress - when I enter the door, it says it is registered. However, it still only supports 3 nodes.

The 3 node limitation is mentioned in REGISTER.DOC (I didn't find it anywhere else!):

þ SYSOPS: (MAIL DOOR ONLY) PRO Editions are available for 4-10 node
operations and Unlimited Node Operations. The shareware version is
    only a 1-3 node system.

Anybody know if there is a distinct PRO version of Silver Xpress and where it could be found?

UPDATE - Silver Xpress serial numbers starting with "M" are considered PRO and support up to 10 nodes.

Serial numbers starting with "ML" support more than 10 nodes.

Serial numbers that don't start with M or ML support only 3 nodes.

I was able to generate a serial number using the SXCODE generator and now the Silver Xpress door is working on nodes > 3 on my BBS. (well, almost working - there's still a Y2K issue to solve)

Thanks to Exodus for the SXCODE.ZIP serial generator - I knew it would be worth checking Titantic BBS before trying to do it myself! :)
