I have, at times, read where some user is bragging that they were
able to add someone to a twitlist in Multimail. I recently
upgraded to the latest version (I could find) - v0.52 - and still
do not see any such feature.
Does such a feature even exist?
I've been using MM 0.52 for quite a while, and do not believe such a feature is included with the program. That would be a cool idea for the next version. Maybe there could be a note to the maintainers to consider the idea for 0.53 on the official cvs.

MultiMail is still being developed/updated, so you could ask that a twitlist be added. I don't know if the idea would get any traction, but
it wouldn't hurt to ask about it.

i never really got this concept. like a self inflicted safe space or something easy enough to just blast past those messages. you're stuck with the messages of other people interacting with them anyways.

Synchronet BBS software has a twitlist function built in. The messages would never make it to the offline reader.

The twitlist is a good way to get people who just annoy you out of your face.

On BBBS I can add names or subjects to the twitlist and then the BBS
skips messages from that user or subject. The twitlist works online or
in offline mail packets.

The use cases I can see for this feature would be:
(1) when a user doesn't want to read messages from a certain poster (i.e. user that does not run a BBS);
(2) I as a sysop might want to skip messages from a certain poster but don't want to prevent the same posts from being seen/read by others.
It is easy enough just to skip them, of course. :)

Actually, some BBS twitlists are "advanced" enough that messages both
from and to that user disappear. It is like they don't exist. :) In
the case of running a BBS, those are perfect for echos that you
moderate. Yes, in the case of an FTN or QWK network, the messages are

Not that I know of. I have read that BlueWave has a twitlist but I
haven't used BW in a long time so I'm not sure of that.

BlueWave 2.30 for DOS. Twitlist to block users in either direction (TO
or FROM).
Sure, I agree. I've left a couple of requests/suggestions in the pastWilliam McBrine may not be as active, but I think some other people have messed with the code like Robert Wolfe.

Okay..... but what does that mean? Is there something newer than 0.52 available somewhere?

There have been some changes since 0.52 was released. I don't
think those were big changes or there would be a new release. You
can grab that updated source from github if you want to have a
look.

Synchronet's twitlist is destructive. Filtered messages never make
it into the BBS. That's good if you are the only one reading on
that BBS but if you have a multi user BBS a per user (non
destructive) filter would be better.

Let's say you moderate an FTN echo. You have a user, let's call tehm
Bee Felfaso, who posts off-topic messages that include references to
human genetalia, bodily fluids, excrement, and other things. You as
the moderator ask Bee to quit posting such nonsense in your echo.
Bee responds that it is "freedom of speech" and that, since it is an
FTN echo, you cannot moderate them.
The Synchronet twitlist may not prevent their filth from
proliferating to all other BBSes, but it will keep it off of your
board and off of any board that gets their feed from you.
So, you can at least partially moderate them. :)

But that is not what you are describing. This user is annoying to you
and you could put them in a twitlist in your reader. If you were to disrupt the flow of mail in the network some might call that
excessively annoying.
but on a multiuser BBS feeding others I would find another solution.
