In the '90 I ran an XBBS system on a 486 and SCO Xenix and a

access it was sort of the end of running a BBS.
I find it interesting that the Fido-net is still around. Now
trying to figure out what software/tools to use today. I remeber
that I used to find PCBoard BBSes and RelayNews(RIME) was popular

RelayNet has been gone a while. Most networks that survived were FTN or
QWK based networks and not those based on proprietary software.

Relaynet was good for a while but it kind of drizzled out.

We don't quote on purpose, You and your brother and your OCD on quoting is way over the top.
yeah maybe these no quoters can create their own msg network where it
only makes sense to the one guy posting.

I don't really understand this.. In a text-based environment, it can be difficult to follow the conversation if you don't quote what you're responding to. If the reader doesn't remember what you're responding to, they'd have to go back over who knows how many messages to find the message you're responding to. Also, if you're only responding to a small section of the message, it can be especially good to quote just that part of the message.
It's just good etiquette. If you don't quote, then you shouldn't be surprised to get negative responses about it, or no responses at all.

I can't find anybody who carries it. i was talking on the telegram side.

the traffic used to come from Telegram users. If they responded to a
recent message, it was not too difficult to follow. If they responded to a post that was days old (or older), I usually had no idea what they were talking about and just skipped it. Others complained, and people

To me, BBSing has been about long-form posting - it's a place to write
well thought out responses in more than 140 characters. Porting Fido to Telegram is interesting, and it fills a missing niche of FTN on a phone.
If you're looking for a Fido "fix" on a phone, the gated telegram groups
are nice. Posting from Telegram to Fido loses something - people occasionally post image memes which is relevant to a microblogging
audience, but all a Fido reader sees is an image URL.
