I wonder, if on the whole life is worth it. I think many great minds
have suggested that perhaps it isn't, and that our purpose in life is
to change that balance. To make a life worth living.

In the end we don't really get to decide if life in general is worth it. We only get to decide if OUR life is worth it. For every "great mind" who suggests life may not be worth it I'm sure there is another who says it is.

I fear we are not working on this, with our divisive politics and our
obsession with petty materialism.

we were meant to build our own dwellings, grow our own food and livestock and work hard and raise children. when you do these things you have a sense of accomplishment and you are happy. when you do things LIKE that you get a sort of pseudo sense of accomplishment.

anyways, that is how we were designed, and if you want to be happy that might work.

also stupid people are more likely to be happy. maybe they are easily amused, i dunno.

i'm not really happy going to work every day but i do it so i can have things. ---
