I don't think they are going to have any success since we
humans love to produce stuff to kill humans faster. And
automated machine for killing humans is the government's
wet dream.

Armed dog robots? Nah. Too vulnerable. Throw a net over it. Or
knock it over. (The bots with legs look really defenceless.) Or
give it a nice dose of EMP.

Pretty soon we would have motes or booby-traps around our
homes. A dog robot wouldn't build a bridge fast enough before
it is incapacitated.

I think the first functional, autonomous robot soldiers are going to be like Terminator s AHs: autonomous armored vehicles running on track-wheels and with autonomous weapon systems. I think that is what SK is aiming to deploy at this stage.

Quad copter drones have the best mobility. They could provide high patrol or recon abilities, or even drop down and inspect streets or inside buildings. Loiter time is based on battery life.
