i get notifications of when people vote.
When someone upvotes or downvotes a message, I get a notification when I log onto my board and it tells me who voted. I have heard others talk as if you can also be reading the message and have a way to list who has voted.

I am running 3.20 and cannot find that option. Is that an option or did
I
just misunderstand where they are seeing the info?
I have never tried posting a poll, so I figure that works a little

He may hurt some feelings but this place would be pretty boring without him andat least he isn't someone's sock puppet like on FIDO.
All the other guys do not not post on dovenet. Never heard of them, never saw them around on other bbses. I wonder if these are bots that work their way onto bbses.

That brings up a quasi-related question I have.

i've got the poll pulled up on vert and it says D Delete msg/close poll
i can't really find stats on it or who voted on what.
what sucks is only 5 people voted that "mro" should ever post again.
and i got 3 no.
i was expecting more total votes since i'm such an aweful person.
I had a big surprise if a lot of people voted.

If it's a bot, it's an purpose-built one I'm sure. I recall there was a bot created (not by me) to specifically down-vote every post by The Millionaire at one time. It was effective in triggering him, but it was a short-lived joke.
When you posted the poll, you had the option of the visibility of the tally/results. You might have to close the poll to see the results, depending on the option you chose.
Those are stats. And for what it's worth, when I view your poll I see:

You might want to expand on it and make it more robust. perhaps anonymous voting and maybe save data when it's not.
and make it a voting module to be
used locally on the bbs. I'm not sure if it has that feature, I've never used it and I have it disabled.

I'm not sure what you mean by "save data when it's not". The record of who voted how is saved already, it's just not displayed to anyone without extra effort. Voting is already fairly anonymous, though there does need to be a record kept (and it is) and its always possible for a sysop to display that record some way or another (so not truly anonymous).

There is the "/V" command at the main menu to vote on any polls that you haven't seen/voted on already. But as for a "voting module", Nightfox created one.
well here is what i get.

There's no built-in Synchronet feature/option to list who voted on a message or
a poll.

Yeah, you'd think more folks would vote against someone so repugnant. :D

well when i login to vert i see who voted and what for. so it's not really anonymous in that respect. and when i said save data when it's not, i meant when it's not anonoymous save that data and allow people to look it up. sorry, should have been more specific about it.

oh i prefer freevote.

I don't think freevote distributes polls across a network, does it?

no, it doesn't. i was talking about local voting.

I'm not sure why you're comparing SlyVote to Freevote then. The whole point of Synchronet's QWK voting is that it's network-distributed.
i dont know much about the voting, i've never really been a fan of it.
if you look above i made a req for it to be used locally on the bbs.
I dont know if 'slyvote' is the same as your qwk voting or if those are two different things.
