Alternatively, you could find a better class of friends and move on.
The point of the thread is precisely that the problem is becoming widespread.
The human touch of interactions is getting lost. Job applications are done online, with candidates using computer generated CVs designed to please computer based CV evaluators. Dating and matchmaking is becoming automated and algorythm based. People don't make friends at the workplace anymore.
My generation was trained not to give a flying fuck for anybody. It is not a problem of finding better people to be with. It is a problem with society becoming poisoned.
If you hit Spanish media you will notice so many studies showing that people inmy age bracket is mostly lonely, lacks the ability to form lasting friendships, has trouble sustaining long term romantic relationships.
If you are powerful by any meaning of the word (you make money, you have outstanding skills, you get the hot chicks) then your own social circle will try to pull you down because you will be perceived as a threat. This can be seen as early as in kindergarden. You are either medicore like everybody else or they will try their best so you are.
Telling people to just go out and make friends is like telling a homeless to just go buy a house in a country where the house market is crashed.
