Thanks there Dumas ~ I had already kind of seen that myself as well.
Not that I was saying anything that needed to personal, just
testing. Of course I realize that pretty much anything you post or
put out there will never be private.
you can send them a personal msg via qwk
username@hub/node
I will have to give that a try! Thanks again there MRO, I should
start reading the FM instead of waiting for you to point me in the
right direction...

are you talking about qwk or netmail via ftn?
are you talking about qwk or netmail via ftn?
I download QWK packets for a reader.
I tried sending netmail from the board interface (non-private), and
also tried to send a private message. (telegram)
The private message asked for user/node and I tried the same thing I
used for netmail but the interface stated 'unknown user'.
So am I missing the node?

okay you didn't say you were using a reader.
I tried sending netmail from the board interface (non-private), and
how did you do it? through the reader? or via the bbs?
also tried to send a private message. (telegram)
that's entirely different.

i'm not sure what you're trying. you're mixing together 3 things.
qwk and ftn have different syntaxes. a telegram is just a bbs
function on synchronet.
also your reader could be an issue.

I used the main read mail function, then selected netmail on the
bbs. When I tried sending a private email from the QWK packet
reader (BlueWave 2.20 with Y2K update), I found it was not private
but sent to all.
also tried to send a private message. (telegram)
that's entirely different.
When I tried to send private mail from Vert main message menu using
E to enter, I selected private and it came up with a few selections
such as telegram, chat, netmail etc. I tried a few but got errors.

To send email via QWK, you need to post the message to conference #0.

All email and netmail is private, or as private as you can expect at least. There is non-private email or netmail option, they are
implicitly private. I think you're confusing the private inter-node and inter-BBS communications (via the Ctrl-P hotkey) with email. They're
very different things. --
